NEW HAVEN POLICE & STATEWIDE TASKFORCE MAKE SIGNIFICANT NARCOTICS ARRESTS TAKING MORE NEARLY 85 GRAMS OF HEROIN AND 450 GRAMS OF CRACK COCAINE OFF OF THE STREETS

(1/24/2008) NEW HAVEN- On Tuesday, New Haven Police and the Statewide Narcotics Task Force made arrests in ongoing drug-dealing investigations throughout the City. Members of the Taskforce’s South Central Office assisted New Haven Police in executing a search warrant at 16 Wilson Street, 2nd Floor where officers 168 bags of heroin weighing approximately 67.2 grams, two bags of powder cocaine weighing approximately 1 gram, Acetaminophen/Oxycodene and Respiradol pills and $242.00 in cash.

At the Wilson Street residence, 40-year-old Ricardo Crespo was arrested for Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Narcotics W.I.T.S., Possession of Narcotics within 1500 feet of a School, Possession of Narcotics W.I.T.S. within 1500 feet of a School and Possession of a Prescription Drug not in Original Container.

Also on Tuesday, members of the Taskforce and New Haven Police executed a search warrant at 3B Little Green, 2nd Floor where officers seized 92 bags of heroin weighing approximately 17.6 grams, 126 bags of crack cocaine weighing approximately 19.4 grams and $488.00 in cash. At this residence, 35-year-old Pedro L. Mojica was arrested for Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Narcotics W.I.T.S., Possession of Narcotics within 1500 feet of a Housing Project, Possession of Narcotics W.I.T.S. within 1500 feet of a Housing Project and Risk of Injury.

Additional arrests by the Taskforce and New Haven Police were made the same day at 4 Adam Clayton Powell Place where 9 bags of crack cocaine weighing approximately 422.9 grams, 1 gram of marijuana and $1,001.00 in cash were seized from the residence.

Vincent C. Jones, a 31-year-old New Haven resident was charged with Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Narcotics W.I.T.S., Possession of Narcotics within 1500 feet of a School and Possession of Narcotics W.I.T.S. within 1500 feet of a School. Also arrested were 27-year-old Jimisha R. Davis and 26-year-old Demetrius Hyman, both of 4 Adam Clayton Powell Place, for Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Narcotics W.I.T.S., Possession of Narcotics within 1500 feet of a School, Possession of Narcotics W.I.T.S. within 1500 feet of a School, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana within 1500 feet of a School.

The results of all of these investigations will help improve the quality of life in their New Haven neighborhoods.
